Cellular Confinement Systems Brochure
Cellular Confinement Systems were first developed by the US Army in the 1970’s in order to construct roads, airstrips, etc. on soft soil and under wet weather conditions. It was determined that placement of thin walled, sand filled cells over a soft subgrade provided significantly greater load bearing capability than compacted soil alone. High density polyethylene (HDPE) was found to provide an optimal solution in terms of strength, durability, ease of handling and economics.

InfraGreen Solutions at the TDAG Conference
The Trees and Design Action Group (www.tdag.org.uk) have organised two conferences on 22 June 2015 in Glasgow and on 23 June 2015 in Edinburgh to explore opportunities and delivery solutions for making the most of trees in hard landscapes in the Scottish context.
InfraGreen have produced their Tree Root Protection guide to show how the InfraWeb TRP, 3 Dimensional Cellular confinement system, can be used to support traffic loads whilst maintaining a healthy root zone.
