Key Challenges

To create a situation where parking places and tree pits must be combined.

The Purpose/Function of the System

To create a situation where parking places and tree pits must be combined.

  • The ArboRaft structure accommodates the vertical and lateral forces from vehicular loading; whilst the soil remains uncompacted.
  • The ArboRaft can act as a container to hold the rich soil.
  • The ArboRaft provides the ideal sub-base replacement layer for the pavement (doesn’t rut etc).
  • The air gap within the ArboRaft facilitates re-oxygenation of the soils.
  • The air gap prevents root growth into the pavement
  • The air gap and the un-compacted soils facilitate the movement of water, gasses and oxygen through the system.
